I set my alarm for a sunrise shoot of the most photographed tree in New Zealand. Completely submerged after a very wet Spring thaw, the tree normally bares it's entire trunk. I was there for the short moment when the rising sun shined solely on the lakes only rooted inhabitant.
Later in the afternoon we hiked the Mount Iron trail to soak in the panoramic views of the Wanaka valley.
